They just shipped out an update to the message system, but we cannot delete PMs? What? Come on! |
There is probably no 'delete' button incase you need to see that message for future refference, but yes, i think this is a great idea. Support! |
We were never able to totally delete PMs since the big update in 2012.
You can only "Archive" PMs, and this is because kids with parents monitoring their accounts may want to look through their archived PMs to see if they're doing something explicit. |
I support because sometimes, I get plainly rude messages like "u r noob" |
@Advorsus
That's a rather silly excuse. |
@ryan, i agree, thats why it's a good idea! |
I didn't come up with the idea. I speak for the people who removed the ability to delete PMs. |
I support this but just put spam messages or other things in your archive. Thats what I do. |
Or, you could ignore your messages or put them into archive? |
What's the big deal with archiving anyway? It's not any different except for the fact that if you archive a PM, you can go to your archives and look at it again.
Otherwise, it's no different from deleting PMs. When you archive it, you'll never have to look at it again. |
Still, I'd rather have a clean archive where I can store messages that are actually important, instead of storing everything I have ever read. |
That's the point of an archive - it's where stuff that's not important is kept.
The most unimportant thing to you could one day become important again, and you'll feel relieved knowing that you were able to archive it instead of deleting it and never seeing it again.
All archived PMs can be put back into the inbox for quick access, so you can store your important PMs in your inbox (marking them as read) and unimportant ones in the archive. |
Maybe ROBLOX could introduce a 'folder system' where you are aloud 2-3 folders for storing important messages. |
@talk2me2
That's a good idea only if you would rather have your PMs organized in some fashion. |
They removed it in late '10....
I like archiving better

@Advorsus
I still don't like the idea of having to keep 90 unimportant messages clogging my archive. |
Your archive is exactly that - a clogged up bottomless pit of messages that you personally discarded.
Maybe in the future there will be something more organized like folders that you can create and name to put certain PMs in, but that's very tedious work.
Archives are not meant to be kept neat in any way except for the dates in which the messages were archived. There's nothing you can do about it.
Again, there's always the possibility that one day - just one day, you will go through those archives and find a message that's very important to you, and you'll be thankful that the message wasn't permanently deleted. |

There is a delete key, but it's when you open the message. Wishing it was like hotmail or yahoo when you can click a box, but NOPE it's not here.
Support.

@AdvorsusDuo
If it was important then I could have kept it. :l |
If it's important, then you don't archive it.
If you do archive it, you can move it back to your inbox. |
Even then, it would just be nice to have a delete button - regardless of whether or not the user failed in saving an important message. |
I agree with Advorsus, kids might be PMing another ROBLOXian saying. "oh hey lets meet up at _____" Parents might not know because the PM is completely deleted. Archive helps because accounts that are owned by kids to not do something like that. Previous happenings in my state happened because parents weren't able to read the messages that they're kids have been receiving and composing, luckily they're fine.
But still, deleting messages is dangerous for the kid population of ROBLOX, especially with the rise of crimes related to this. |

Deleting a PM serves no difference from archiving it except for the fact that there is a 0% chance of you ever seeing that deleted PM ever again.
After archiving a PM, you will never have to think about it again, but JUST INCASE there is that slight chance that you do, lucky for you, the archive button saved it form being permanently deleted.
Thank the archive button. |
