I'm going to level one of my characters to 20 before I buy it ( to see if I am addicted to it, or not )
Anyways, I am brand new to it, I'm about to create an account and install it.
Any suggestions before playing?

I personally have played for the past few years, finish the trial and see if you enjoy it. |

There's better MMO's than WoW nowadays, when I used to play WoW back when it came out, it was really fun, now it's a linear quest path to 80 |

Idk.
There are probably MMO's that have more enjoyment for less money but their names escape me.
SWTOR is pretty dead and had decent class storylines but some were worse than others.

Don't you have to buy all five-ish expansions to play it? |

Never heard of Guild Wars 2...
Is it a download? |

@Asassin
The expansions don't actually kick in until level 60 IIRC.

Guild Wars 2 is a one of purchase MMORPG game, roughly around the cost of about £50-£60 (last time I checked if I can remember correctly) and you don't have to pay subscriptions fees. Though it does look slightly empty in some ways. (Not sure why, just feels like it to me)

So you can play Guild Wars 2 for free? I don't have any money right now, and I'm not getting my $50 till May 6th.
What is £50-£60 in US currency? ( sorry, I only know US Currency ) |

No Guild Wars 2 is not free. But if you buy it than you keep it forever. It isn't like WoW where you need to buy subscriptions. The only thing you would have to pay for in GW2 is DLC's (Not sure if there are any though.) |

I'm a diehard WoW fan so I say it's worth it, but if you want other options....
RIFT, SWTOR, Guild Wars 2, and theres several other F2P mmos |

Sadly, SWTOR lags like hell on the laptop. It's a great game, but cannot play because of extreme lag. |

If SWTOR lags, will GW2 lag? |
|
takinamaJoin Date: 2008-09-05 Post Count: 3040 |
Yes. Guild Wars 2 requirements are miles ahead of SWToRs |

So I don't have an income yet... :l
But soon I will, and once I do, I will get WoW. |

Have you played the trial yet? {Note: the first 20 levels are nothing compared to the end game) |

>i paid like $120 for only about 100 hours of enjoyment.
