There have been many people around saying that monopolies will rise because of buying multiple solution. I have a reasonable solution!
The solution: Add a fee per limited. Here's how it works: Jack is selling his limited for 100 Ros. Jill doesn't have the limited yet, so she buys the limited for 100 Ros. Just like that. But here's the catch: Jake already has one copy of the limited. He buys it from Jill, who is selling it for 100 Ros, however, Jake must pay 110 Ros instead of 100. Likewise, if Jailene had two copies of the limited, she must pay 120 Ros instead of 100.
See what I'm getting at? For every limited that is the same as that one you have, you'll have to pay an extra 10% (That the seller doesn't get). This would prevent monopolies like Merely that would otherwise buy every existing copy, because by the time he gets his 10th copy, he'll be paying twice as much as a normal person would!
This would be organised by an extra fee under the normal seller's price on the limiteds page. While we cannot prevent people monopolising the limiteds through the trade system itself, this would be a huge step in the right direction.
This would also encourage active and thought out trading instead of just selling and buying. It would also prevent insanely rich people from getting multiple rare limiteds, as 10% of 100,000 (10,000) would be a considerable obstacle to overcome!
Q&A:
"10% Is too small": Not really. Any larger and we'd get quite some complaints. After all, there's nothing bad about owning 2-3 limiteds. It's only when this small fee builds up that it is needed and helps.
"What's a limited and whats trading": Just don't tell me that. Read about it.
TL;DR Version: For all of the identical limiteds you have, you have to pay an additional fee to buy your next. |

Maybe 10% cumulative. I.E. I have 0 limited "x" I buy one for 100. I buy another, 10% tax= 110. I buy another. 20% tax=120.
10% tax is fairly easily surmountable by rich users. |

Sounds good. But this is geared towards rare limiteds. |

Yes. But for example the "St Patricks day 2012" limited hat. RyanDolan123 has about 30 of them. My idea would prevent him from being able too buy as many as he did without a loss. |

Alright. How about 30% to match or marketplace fee? :) |

Haha, I'm surprised Merely hasn't bought the heck out of a lot of limiteds. Maybe he went broke? :3 |

I think Merely just wants 1 of each. He uses bots too get them though. :l |

God theres a one sentence TLDR at the bottom. How hard is it? |

This makes sense. Finally somebody who makes sense. It would definitely slow down the hoarding. PiePierson50 has 63 copies of the same hat. That would mean he would've had to pay 630% on his last hat, which he in no way could've done. |

RolanDolan123 and DarkGenex also hoard. |
|
|
Even supercolin, stickmasterluke, and a few others have started hoarding also. I would like to see hoarding discouraged, but still possible. |
