Where would you like to start? Anytime, anywhere. |

Okay then....
Your name is Edward Connorston. An admiral of the M.R.S Seeker. You're on a mission, with your crew, to start a new town in the newfound land of America.
You have 11 members of your crew.
Charles Slightred, the ships cook.
Jack Harrison, your First Mate.
Fergason, Gunther, Isaac, Owen, Perrens, Karlston, Varrsburg, and Yuri are the other members of your ship. And last but not least, Sheckley Groben is your ships Navigator.
Blue surrounds your ship and thick, gray clouds cover the skies. |

You have 21 barrels of food left, 3 barrels of al-co-hall (misspelled on purpose.) And 8 barrels of fresh water left. All of this is store in the hull.
It is after high noon and the sun beats down on your crew. |
|
|
How much supplies does it take per day to survive on the ship, do we have tools such as fishing rods to achieve more supplies? |
|

You do have fishing rods. Your crew drinks 1/10 a water barrel per day. They eat 5/10 a barrel a day. (It's just bread potatoes and non perishable foods.) And they have the special drink on your command.
You are about a month from your destination.
The fish are silent, and are not biting on any of Yuri's lines.
He can't even see any. |

Several days go by.
(Forgive my thrown together math.)
You have 20 barrels of food and 7 barrels of water. Not single fish bite.
Yuri says something's wrong. |
|
|
My crew ate two days worth of food but 10 days worth of water, balance their diets.
Ask Yuri what is wrong.
Get a written report of our military supplies from Gunther.
(Exactly how many days have gone by?) |

(Darnit. I got the water confused. Two days have gone by.)
You still have 8 barrels of water left.
Yuri says that the fish would have bitten by now. Or he would at least seen one on the surface. Yuri seems nervous and his eyes are darting from side to side.
Gunther reports that every crew member has a sword and two flintlock pistols. You have three pistols and a cutlass. The ship has 1 upper deck cannon on each side, and 2 lower deck cannons on each side. We have 5 barrels of gunpowder and 4 barrels of ammunition. |
|
|
Tell Yuri to investigate with two other crew members about the problem with fish, it would be a good emergency food system.
Ask Gunther how much supplies it takes for one shot with a cannon.

It takes 1/0 of gunpowder and one cannonball to fire a shot. |
|
|
|
How many cannonballs are in one barrel of ammunition? |
|

Yep, one tenth. What I meant.
15 in each. |
|
|
Ask Yuri and the others if they've found out why there aren't any fish. |

Jack, one of the other crew members is quite shaken.
He saw something big, and fast in the water. Deep below, he could only see a dark outline. Maybe it's eating all of the fish? |
|
|
Tell everyone to get into positions, load the cannons, and prepare if we have to do battle.
Scan around the water for said beast, and ask Jack what it looked like, trying to calm him down with a cup of alcohol. |

"Okay....okay." He says, gulping down the alcohol. "Right...it...it..." He takes another swig. "Sorry, sorry." He takes a deep breath. "It had..it had legs. IT was huge. Going through the water so fast, so big!" He looks around and leans in close to you and whispers, "I think, it might be a kraken."
The crew gets into position. |
|
|
I stand there, dumbfounded.
"We need to finish this mission, one way or the other."
I patted his back, and then went to my station with my cutlass drawn. |

The crew seems alert, and ready to fight.
The wait seems long, minutes pass by as if years. |
|
|
I throw a small amount of food into the water, trying to lure the creature out. |
