I will make this simple. You should be able to generate terrain with seeds just like you can in minecraft.

Useless because practically no one uses terrain as a serious building tool. 25% support.

ROBLOX isn't Minecraft, and terrain sculpting is the main point of the terrain system. siggy

People might think roblox is just copying ideas for there game ._. and minecraft gamers might take it the wrong way -BonQuiQui-

"Useless because practically no one uses terrain as a serious building tool." It's a rather nifty tool for new players who want to make landscapes. Having a seed enables them to share their finds with each other. "terrain sculpting is the main point of the terrain system." I hope you realize that if you're going to say that terrain seeds are "Minecraft", "sculpting" the terrain is another thing you do in Minecraft. Anyway, Minecraft didn't invent the idea of map generated via seeds (if they did, link please). I don't particularly like terrain since I'm a CFramer, but I can see how this is useful in minor ways. -Virtualdarks

You guys know you can modify the terrain plugin to call math.randomseed(seed) at the start of the procedure.

I haven't played Minecraft yet... so I am not sure what this means... Explain? ~Deme

When you generate a terrain map, and it looks UBER UBER cool, they want you to give a "code", called a "seed." Other people can then apply the code, or "seed" and have the exact same terrain generation shinola as the first guy.

Ah, so like a stored series of coding that can create a duplicate of the terrain? If so, than support!

BUT! That idea is already in ANOTHER game. It's basically copying the idea, Deme

"It's a rather nifty tool for new players who want to make landscapes. " Not just for new players, I sometimes generate a terrain, and then build in/on it in Studio mode. It saves me a lot of time of throwing together a group project when I can just click a button to create terrain, and then set it as a community project for the group to work on. Just sayin'. ~>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzuaZR52cXo<~

"BUT! That idea is already in ANOTHER game. It's basically copying the idea, Deme" Debatable. I highly doubt that only one other game has created sharable seeds, and, why should we restrict players from sharing terrain generations simply because someone else did it first? If everyone followed that logic (Not doing something because someone else already did) most of us would still be living under the hereditary monarchy systems of medieval Europe. There would only be one brand of computer, only one brand of cellular phone, even only one brand of battery. See the faults in the logic of "How about we not do this because someone else already did?" ~>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzuaZR52cXo<~

Uhm, there is this functionality already in the game, you just have to edit it a little bit.
