Actually, PHP's syntax isn't that bad. I mean sure it's inconsistant but it's easy to learn and simple, for the most part.

^Yeah, I like PHP. Some people prefer Python. Python may well be easier / faster / neater / whatever, but that doesn't change the fact that, based on some searching, that there are far more jobs for PHP and ASP.Net than there are for Python.

@triston And that doesn't change the fact that we're kids that still aren't very good at programming...

^ If you have your sites set on a Web Dev job from an earlyish age it's important that you choose a language that is actually used widely in industry.

ASP.NET is much simpler. There's already tons of libraries built in to the default ASP.NET server.

"@Virtual: Aww, I was hoping for a word wall from you :P" I would be more than happy to oblige if you still would like a word wall, though not an extraordinarily large one. :P PHP is really an awful language. There isn't just "one" thing wrong about it either... everything is just slightly screwed up. PHP was originally designed for the non-programmer, and it definitely shows. Predictability, consistency, reliability, debuggability, and concision are what make a language productive and useful. PHP barely follows any of these things. PHP seems to only have fragments of these things. The only reason it is common... is just that. It is common. People use it because others use it and they have never used anything else. As I already stated... there is nothing truly wrong with the language... Everything is there... everything you need to design is there. The problem being that everything they give you to create... is not as useful as they could be. It isn't just one thing... everything about PHP is like this. I really wish people would start using Python or something along those lines...
