I only like post count for one reason. It encourages legit posters to stay on the Forums and it shows how much experience they have. But it's created too much destruction. theAfterParty is about to pass ventus48539 with a Forum bot. That is just wrong. |

An idea I have:
When you post more than twice in 6 seconds, you have to enter a captcha code (the one when you fail to enter your pw too many times). If you spam again, you have to enter another code and will be banned from the Forums for 5 minutes. If you spam right after being unbanned, you'll be banned for 10 minutes. If you spam a 3rd time after being unbanned, you get banned for an hour. This would help people legitimately post and not spam while not having to remove post count.

I like this, and don't like it.
The people who have actually got a high post count by posting on-topic should be able to be proud of the post count they have.
I was thinking something like if the mods see it as spam, gets CD'd, deleted, etc. In other words, if any moderation was taken against the thread or post, it could remove that many posts from the post count.
I personally like my post count, and seeing it grow every day. But being #1, #10 or #1000 shouldn't matter. The forums isn't a place for people to fight for first place. The botters usually get banned sooner or later. They'll get so caught up in themselves that they start making the spam more visible, then more reportable, soon it will lead to a ban.
Although this is a somewhat good idea, I don't support it. |

Some botters hide and aren't noticed until they've hit an ENORMOUS amount of posts. Example: theAfterParty
So mods can't do a lot about some botters. Post count is a nice thing to have in some cases but the fact that it's causing many negative effects is why it should be removed. |

I think i'd love to have no more post count, because i see people judging people on posts, it is like racism, they act superior when really we aren't.

@Remove post count, the only reason I forum is so I can have a high post count when I quit, which is when this BC term ends, thats like 21 days it's already over my goal so I am good. |
