Happened with my post Selling Items for NBC's, you just don't read the whole thing (like everyone) unless you can quote it for later use, trying to act like you know everything (I don't really mind your attitude, your style is actually pretty good, but I can do better)

I like looking at the feedback from the one who is overlooking the main point and isolating one small fraction of the text given just to provide fuel for a counterargument making said argument invalid by not acknowledging the rest of the important point(s). And grammar is simply used to show one's true intelligence and knowledge on the subject making the post(s) seem more reliable and valid.
One of the fun parts of arguing to get your point across is trying to outdo your opponent and make your reasoning clearer because of the feeling of accomplishment after proving the said reasoning making it even more valid than before. However, some people tend to take that way too far and end up seeing only what they want in order to keep going. |

Very well, I shall make the empathy I have explicit with this back-story:
To be honest, I was never fond of the WNTS back in 2009-2011.
Hated it.
I was exactly like you in that sense- Heck, I was even a pro-complaint, pro-NBC "rights." kind of guy.
Then, in 2011, the WNTS disappeared.
Poof. Just like that.
And... 2011 and 2012 were just... Horrendous. Full of arguments with no purpose, full of anti-roblox commentary, full of oversuggested ideas, full of stuff that roblox could not develop from.
It really was an apocalypse. Roblox lost its good opinion of us, we made our opinions very sceptical and generally worthless.
Looking back at those two years, maybe rightfully so.]
There was no WNTS at that time, and it made S&I hellish.
Then, MasterChiefAlpha appeared, in late 2012.
By then I realised just how useful the WNTS is to S&I-
It purifies it by removing bad/oversuggested/not going to happen ideas, allowing original ideas to be seen. It's not a limitation, it's more like...
An analogy could be water treatment. The water treatment plant is S&I, The water is a flow of ideas. All the disease, grime, sewage and waste are the ideas that violate the WNTS. The WNTS is the multiple techniques used to purify the water, and the ideas that are original and thus now see-able are the water that comes out.
...How poetic.

And that is how the thread you hate was created- I hated it, It was removed. I saw the idiocy and hate it prevented full blast for 2 years. I may still dislike it, to be honest. But at least now I know what it does, and I can respect it enough to care about it.
In fact, you really seem like a spitting image of 2010 me.
Problem is, the WNTS is struggling. It’s not working as well as it did in 2010. This is most likely because of the laxness of rules found in 2011 and 2012. So it needs a push.
And by a push, I mean a punishment for violation- Deleting WNTS violations makes sense.
Anyway, we are getting OT now.

Your welcome frozen, and I just remembered one more thing about people who do that. Some tend to put words in your mouth by altering quotes, whether it be knowingly or not, to their advantage. Tec did that at least once to me so far, where when I was referring to physics engine lag and featherweight parts not holding back a dam of calculations anymore as a projectile passed through a cluster of parts slowing it down, he stated that the "slowing down" is caused by less frequent rendering updates due to the distance away from the camera/character. That little argument was in my first draft/original "Multiple parts per mesh" thread.
On topic, I don't see why they bring back the WNTS, but don't moderate the issue like they have done back in 2010 as frozen said. I guess they just need to either step up moderation a notch, or they are just struggling to slow down the flood of WNTS threads due to ineffective methods. |

Well Metta, it's not that they did moderate back in 2010,
It's more like they didn't need to.
Most people obeyed the WNTS and violations didn't really exist.
Sure, there were a few violators, but they were uncommon enough to be ignored.
But, bump 2.0

Dude, WNTS is just basically saying ideas that were already taken. That's almost everything. There might even be another version of this idea! People copy nearly all the time. It's hard to come up with an original idea, since almost all of them are taken. Don't you think people's constant scrutiny, complaining and whining is enough for a WNTS post? Remember my "The WNTS has gone too far" post? Well, taking away WNTS would stop a lot of the flame wars on S&I. You've seen it happen on my post (if you saw the link), and on someone else's post. Why so much for just an already taken idea? Stronger WNTS violation punishment would mean the WNTS is limiting freedom of speech, and if ROBLOX limits freedom of speech, people will quit ROBLOX, go exploit them, or maybe even go to court with ROBLOX. No one likes a place where you can't speak your mind! Have you ever heard of a rebellion? |
