Since we have lights, why not have glowing bricks?
It's simple.
The glow would have a value of let's say, 0-10, and it would work the same way transparency and reflectance do.
When the brick glows, it emits light off all the surfaces of the brick.
Or maybe we could even have a feature where we could choose which surfaces emit light. That'd be cool.
Support or no support? |

I would rather just have lense flare, but support. |

Shadows seriously have nothing to do with this idea.
You can't suggest what comes first. You suggest, and if ROBLOX will do it, then it will happen eventually when they think it best falls in. |

Worse idea up-to-date.
What's next?

@Elementalium
And tell me: How is this a bad idea? |
|
|
Because your feeding the Admins with more useless things, we already have Dynamic Lighting, there's no need for some GLowing Brick that'll probably lag the whole server. |
|
ExtulsJoin Date: 2009-01-02 Post Count: 5557 |
How will it lag the whole server?
Inserting a light into a brick and making the brick glow are two different things. |
|
|
Are you trolling? Or you don't how to script?
Or probably both. |

Don't answer my questions with questions.
Answer properly. Otherwise, you're just shooting your mouth off and not knowing what you're talking about. |
|
|
Trolling has nothing to do with this. Glowing blocks don't exist yet.
Maybe he sees grate use for the glowing blocks, for example in some maps of sorts. |
|
|
No, answer my question first, because stupid people like you think it's easy to add a glow effect on a brick, suggest something when you know how it works you le tard. |

@Elementalium
I never said it was easy.
I'm not stupid. Honestly, I'm sure I'm way smarter than you. Actually, seeing your responses has made me 100% positive that I am. |
|
|
100% Positive? It's good to know you're both arrogant and ignorant.
I know this is a late response, but it's a good thing that this topic was dropped, you're talking out of your ###. |

Focus on the idea, not irrelevant stuff.
This is a good idea, although other things need implementation, this works and should be added, maybe after light outlines and such.
But this would be amazing to have. |

we already have spotlights, this is useless. |

@Maileh
And this is the same as spotlights, how...? |

FreemiumJoin Date: 2010-04-17 Post Count: 8059 |
It's called PointLight. >_> |
|
MailehJoin Date: 2011-06-14 Post Count: 1067 |
glow would create the same thing as the spotlight.
|
|
ExtulsJoin Date: 2009-01-02 Post Count: 5557 |
@Evil
No it's not. PointLight is emitted off the center of the brick. This makes the brick's SURFACE glow.
@Maileh
No, it actually wouldn't. You clearly don't understand the idea. |

Focus on the idea, would you like it to be implemented or not? |

This is about brick surfaces emitting light, not brick centers, as a builder, this could be very useful for manipulating structures, such as if I wanted a rectangular light, I could have the surface light up instead of a spherical shape. |
