This has been suggested many many times before, but I think it's about time that I really raise the awareness as to how important this feature is.
So, ROBLOX are currently treating audio as an 'extra'; this is wrong, as it is a necessity. A game isn't a game without audio, so why price it? It's like putting a price on bricks, you can't have a good game without bricks, and the same stands with audio.
However, audio has a price, and will always have a price. So for this reason the price needs to be something worth its value. As an NBC user it's hard to earn ROBUX, almost impossible to earn a substantial income with the current *TC rate. ROBLOX is about being able to build extraordinary things with the tools provided. I for one find that extremely difficult due to the fact that everything I want to build has a set back related to money. In 2007, I didn't sign up to ROBLOX thinking, ''if I buy a membership I can create an amazing game''. I signed up thinking, ''I can use the tools provided free of change and create something incredible''. Building is becoming a BC only feature, that's plain wrong. Sure, ROBLOX need money, get a membership to make your avatar cool, use the trade system etc... Don't get a membership so you can use ROBLOX for its original purpose, building.
Building a good game should always be an easy task for both NBC and BC users, no matter the circumstance.
But since audio has a price, it needs to contrast well with the content of the audio file.
Currently, if you upload an audio file of any length, you have to pay R$100 -> If I upload an audio file worth 3 seconds in length, it's the same price as uploading one worth 60 seconds in length. That's like selling 1 chunk of chocolate for £1, and then a whole bar of chocolate for £1. That simply doesn't work in my head. So, how does this sound?
>FOR NBC<
1 second of audio = R$2 -> so now, me uploading that 3 second long audio file costs me R$6, and the 60 second audio file costs me R$120 - seems a lot more logical to me.
>FOR BC<
1 second of audio = $1
[[ I know that the audio price being high is supposed to encourage people to buy Builders Club (among other reasons), so BC users are still befitting from this feature too ]]
So, how does this idea sound?
(Sorry if there are any typos in this)

*TC = Trade Currency |

>States Audio is a necessity
I don't even use sound in ROBLOX, as it contrasts with my music.
This is the case with many users.
Sounds are NOT a necessity.
I do agree with the whole making it cost based on length though, as a 2 minute song should not cost as much as a 30 second song. |
|
|
Wait so if i upload 300 seconds of audio it will be DOUBLE the amount of bc
so how bout for every minute of audio for nbc it will cost 2 robux
and for bc 1 robux. |

@Vescatur,
Depends on the game.
The game I'm creating requires audio, where as lets say, 'Fencing' or 'SFOTHIV' don't. >*Proper< games require audio.
*Proper: games that you would potentially see on the Market; sold on consoles. Such as Apocalypse Rising. |
|
|
|
OR you can search for audio in this amazing new thing called a "Catalog" then put it in your game for free. And if it isn't there ask someone to make it |

@cyburg,
Thank you. |

no support, for NBC, one second for 2 robux is ridiculous as well, also if they wanted to create a longer audio, then it will waste robux, also it causes inflation.

@lottery248,
I think that R$2 for one second of audio is a very good deal. It's fair.
How will it cause inflation? |
|
|
people pay for audio, and less robux in circulation. if less robux in circulation, robux becomes more valuable. it will cause tix inflation.

@lottery248,
That has been going on for years, it's hardly fixable now, so why bother? |
|
|
@lottery, bringing up your excuse as to why you don't support this thread. You want everything to be NBC but it will never work like that. |
|
|
Sound isn't a part of building. Technically, it would fall into the scripting category. You don't been sounds in order to make an amazing structure such as a pirate ship. Sure, it'd make it better, but it wouldn't actually stop you from building what you want to build. |
|
|
hey man, think again, NBC need to have to wait a long time to be able to upload an audio, because of the TC rate, NBC will have to wait even longer as well. but if you have BC, you just only need to wait about 4~5 days and you will be able to upload one, BC can even do spam easily.
why NBC need to pay 2 robux for a second? it is extremely ridiculous.
if BC can easily upload an audio, make it BC only instead. |
|
|
What does the TC rate have to do with this? Not my fault you're a fked up failtroll |
|
|
dan, well. NBC can ONLY earn 10 tix a day. because currently TC rate is 15 tix to 1 robux...
realize the post before you posting, seriously, NBC need to wait 2~3 years to upload ONE short music. |
|
|
@lottery Or you could make a good game and use dev products/game passes?
Here's my siggy... Done. |

@nightwingpaladin,
Sound makes a game more professional. |
|
|
Great idea.
It took me a while to save up 100 robux, and I'm not going to use it all on a three-second sound effect.

you didn't say it was required for a professional game, you just stated it was required for any type of game.
a fencing game without sound? it's still a game.
a mining game without sound? still a game.
you said that these games HAD to have some kind of sound.
...
no. |

@BeyondTheClouds,
Fencing isn't a 'professional' game in the first place, so that's why.
Even adding sound to that game wouldn't make it professional.
I'm saying if you wish to create a professional game, you need sound. |
