Hey admins, you always ignore us, but we're the most important part of your precious website. Maybe if you listened once in a while, we could actually GET somewhere. I think we should be able to save text files to players' accounts. Think, if you loved this game, and you wanted to play it every day, but you had to start over all the time, wouldn't you just get sick of repeating yourself? With text files, we could have and do stuff like this: 1. A default child of Player named "Files", where all badges/files/accessories are parented. 2. Some new built-in code, like, if CheckFiles(game.Players["1waffle1"], "LaserTanksSave1") then c = CheckFiles(game.Players["1waffle1"], "LaserTanksSave1") if string.find(c.Text, "Points: 10000") then ect. Get the point? Normal games are able to save things, and NORMAL games don't need any CODE to load it, so why shouldn't we be able to, too?! Please reply if you like this idea

If you could understand the complexities of making our own, on our own, you'd be with me.

YES. Thank you so much. I was experimenting with an RPG badge save, where if you have the badge, you get the weapon, but this is a great idea. TYVM, Waffle.

Anyone else who understands the complex life of a scripter?

The wiki sucks anyway. All you need is scripts from free models to analyze, then make your own. Then memorize everything and learn how to use it. Then bleep the free models.

Do you seriously want to have to write down a giant code, or just restart EVERYTHING whenever you leave? Really. Nobody likes repeating themselves. Come on admins, help us out. Quit the hats and start on the game.

Here's another, shorter way to put it: Something (Free) that we can save (From a game) to users (Using Lua) that records data. (That we can get back)

How'd you like to have people save their own rollercoasters on your game? [tinyprint]*Major scripting required*[/tinyprint]

@ Mat: You already can upload models. I forgot how though... Go to the scripters forum or search it or something. I forgot. But you can actually upload a model using the item ID with Lua. In-game.

@ Starmarine: You'd be amazed if you actually knew how much ROBLOX listened. Beside not at all, they really go by popular demand.

I like this. It's extremely useful in 2D games, so it should be equally useful in roblox. Also, what type of file would the data be stored in?

Simple text. That's all that's needed.

It's like source setting all over again, but now it's universal, and without the actual scripts.

Interesting, so you would be able to call and put data into these files, which would be great for games where you needed saves.

Yeah. Like, want to save something in maybe SB or something, make a map-to-script generator, then turn that into a string. Save it to the desired player, then loadstring it.
