Because of my hypersensitivities and my "quirks." Look it up if you don't know what it is. Respect the science!

I have that to. It isn't so bad. It barley effects me at all. Don't worry friend.

What quirks?

"It isn't so bad." The symptoms vary on an per-individual basis. The narcissists of society are concerned only with patronizing those who suffer from incurable, chronic neuro-psychological disorders.

@budder Thanks. But it is embarrassing to be that one girl that covers her ears during morning announcements because of the loudness of the intercom. Respect the science!

''But it is embarrassing to be that one girl that covers her ears during morning announcements because of the loudness of the intercom.'' In moments like this, the best thing to do is just deal with it. Unless its like actually damaging/hurting your ears then you really gotta cover them.

nah man honestly i feel you but if you just act not embarrassed it doesnt need to be awkward, if people be like "why you doing that" just explain it calmly, i suggest just learning as much as you can about it so you can talk about it a lot. people do this for other things. i have misophonia which means that some sounds trigger anger/violent emotions and sometimes arousal (dont laugh) and i just explain it to people. most people are nice enough to try avoiding my trigger sounds especially when im all "dude this is really dumb but i have a condition that makes me angry when i hear certain things, would you do me a solid and stop?"

@j4mu I can try, but I go to school with some really dense people, so idk if it will work. If not, I only have a few months left until I graduate, so I won't have to deal with them anymore. Respect the science!

oh damn yeah i'm the same age as you but i'm already in college lmao, most people are somewhat mature or at least i dont have to deal with the ones who arent people can make it a big deal if they want, nothing you gonna do will change that, so i suggest just covering your ears if you need to, theyre more important than what some losers in high school think. or wear noise cancelling headphones idk

@j4mu I have noise reducing headphones, but I don't carry them with me because they're kinda bulky, and I really need to get more earplugs. I'm learning not to care what people think. Respect the science!

"Explain" Mercy and empathy is not exhibited towards those who suffer from chronic, debilitating cognitive disorders. Instead, such individuals regularly patronize the affected victims and perceive them as being "socially-inferior." Relatives reject the individuals and criticize them for being incapable of adhering to their irrational standards. Learning/speech disorders are perceived as a signal of being "intellectually-inept." Truly, society is highly repulsive and heavily contaminated with narcissistic individuals concerned only with minimizing those who cannot experience the bliss of proper functionality. It is very frustrating. Penalties should be utilized to punish those who cannot understand the perils of sufferers from disorders such as autism.

@Moronism I have a slight stutter that I've been teased for before. But it really is unfair. Some people just don't get that I can't handle loud noises, bright flashing lights, or certain textures. They think it's strange. A girl kept nagging me to go to a party even though I explained to her a thousand times why I can' because of my sensory issues. Respect the science!

what I think got over that social anxiety was surrounding myself with people who actually cared about me and whose opinion i respected, it made me realize how petty some people are and it made me pity those people enough that it balanced out my embarrassment and anger
