Might be some evidence at the crime scene then. If the murderer returned to the scene to try to clean things up, they probably left signs they did so. Either way, it'd behoove me to go check out the murder site.

Sure, but noon would probably be about 5 hours after she normally opens. You reckon you'd want someone to check in on you if you kicked it. Preferably before the stink started to settle into the carpet.

"Well, I'm going to need the address of her loft and the key to it if you happen to have it," I tell my client. Usually, I just break into places that I need evidence from. But when there's a cop hiring me, I'm sure I can just take the easy route of asking for a key. |

He scribbles something on his notepad, and tears the page off, setting it on your desk.
"I don't have the key on me, of course. Even if I did I couldn't just hand it out."
He tucks away the notepad, and pushes his chair back a bit.
"It's getting late, not much of a night owl. I'll be at the place at around nine, tomorrow morning. I'll be chaparoning for you on the scene." |

"I'll be there if I have my money by then," I say, glancing at the note, then back at the man.
"Lock the door on your way out," I tell him as I wave him away then examine the page he set on my desk. |

He heads for the door, waving once over his shoulder. He doesn't bother locking the door. Couldn't be done from outside. Whatever.
The small college-ruled slip of paper bears an adress. 'Book Store' is written in kanji, followed by 'Prefecture 31, Level 4, Block 12.' in English. |

I roll my eyes as the officer doesn't turn the lock on the door from the inside before he exits to the outside. I should've tried to gut him for more money. I stand up and lock the door for him, before heading off to bed to hopefully try to get just a little bit of sleep. |

I instinctively reach out and hurriedly switch the alarm off. I spend a few seconds lying in bed, not wanting to get up. I turn my crusty and sleepy eyes to the clock and squint to see what time it is. |

What a weird time for me to set my alarm. I must not have been thinking properly when I went to bed. Why do I even have an alarm clock? I have a HUD for that, don't I? I get up and go through my morning routine of using the restroom, taking a shower, and getting dressed. With that finished, I collect my wallet and the slip of paper with the address, stuffing both into my pocket.
I then grab the alarm clock and walk outside, throwing it into a dumpster as I head to some kind of restaurant for breakfast. |

The clock on your HUD says 7:00, so the alarm clock was probably broken. It was hear when you moved in, old owners left it behind, must've been pretty old.
As you step out of your house, you look up to the sky. Dense overcast, pretty dark. Probably going to rain later. |

I don't mind the rain. I'm fond of it, actually. Maybe it's the Izuru in me. Being born and raised around waterways might make you like water falling from the sky a little bit more. Shoving my hands into my pockets, I start to head towards a local restaurant for breakfast. |

You know of a couple of restaraunts nearby. The place next door is more of a lunch place, but it still has a few patrons, sitting on stools at the counter. There's a few cafes and such on the ground floor, if you prefer. |

(Street level. The city is packed so densely most buildings are tiered. Some of the older blocks go up at an angle, like pyramids, with shingled overhangs to kept the weather off the walkways. Newer ones are simply stacked flatly, without any incline. Walkways cross between the buildings, passing over the fairly narrow streets at the bottom.) |
