After a bit of wandering, you come across setion of highway with the husks of several burnt out military vehicles along the sides of it. Abandon supplies and weapons lay scattered across the road, but there are no sign of people, living or otherwise. Some of the supply boxes have been smashed open, however. |

The boxes are- or were- full of gas masks and ration units; according to the labels. Now, most of these are gone; taken by the looter.
The military vehicles are maily covered trucks with charred canvas sides and burnt rubber wheels, fused to the asphalt. One of the trucks is laying in the middle of the road, a giant hole pncturing its side, a crater where the shell must've hit it. It is still burning. |

I exit the shelter, battery still in hand, and look for the source of the noise, which is slowly becoming louder. I see an approaching truck, which stops by me. Two armed men, a human and a dwarf, step out of the truck and aim at me.
"Alright, hand the battery over now." The dwarf tells me.
Even out here there are criminals. |

The highway, as stated, is lined with the husks of old military vehicles. Along the left there are trees, anf on the right is a large chain link fence guarding another section of forest. Forward, you can see some smoke rising in the distance, over a bridge. Behind you lays the ruins of an old, ransacked military outpost with 2 police vehicles and a bus outside of it. |

Being unarmed, I throw the battery to the human, who catches it.
They keep their weapons trained on me as they ren-enter their truck, they drive away.
I managed to read the side of the truck as it leaves.
A "J" in a hexagon, underneath "Jaxley Trading" can be read.
Of course he's not dead. |

I can't remember what exactly was going on around the time I left so not sure quite how they would've escaped.
By the way, how long, exactly, do the batteries last?)
Granit was getting tired. Maybe she should fly up and search around for something. It was hard to see here but maybe she could find something. |

The bus is empty of everything but seats, including the wheel and dashboard. Someone has also vandalized the walls with still remaining spray paint bottles. [Green, blue, and silver] |

Granit spread her wings, jumped up and was in the air easily as usual. Unfortunately she could see nothing.
Sighing, she glided back to the ground. She had lost her sense of direction and was not sure what to do.
Then she heard something. Someone was whistling. Startled, Granit jumped back, half-drawing the knife she had been given (I read it, you said we got a weapon.) and standing to await whoever it was. Then she heard the person talking.
"I could've sworn it was Dey'la's turn to go. Ah, well. Whoever finds the food gets a somewhat larger share. I wonder if there's anyone else out here. Maybe someone who knows what happened to the world. I'm convinced it's not just here."
Granit took a step forward. "Who are you?"
"Hmm?" The figure bagan to be slightly visible. "And you?"
Granit hovered, then said "I'm Granit."
"Isn't that informative. I'm Mara, then." |
