You ask about what your quest will be. The Oracle smiles, revealing dazzlingly white teeth. "You must first find that same artifact, the Sacred Sword, which will lead the way to your true destiny. As I understand it, Vaktovia has the Sword currently. You could press forward and attempt to conquer it with your allies in the army, but it seems that this battle has been barely won and your numbers are few. I have heard your generals decide to retreat to Crowhaven and defend it from Vaktovia on the direct home front. I'd suggest going with them for now. If you win, fantastic. If you lose, then you will have no choice to leave. Oh, and be sure to bring Romeo with you. Your destinies are intertwined."
A. Ask about what condition the Vaktovians are in.
B. Ask about your destinies.
C. Ask about Romeo.
D. Ask about what she means by "this battle has been barely won." |

You ask what your destinies are. The Oracle smiles. "I thought my messenger was quite clear about that. Your destiny is to go on a journey, which will start by finding the Sacred Sword, and Romeo will go with you. However, I must warn you, there will be great sadness at Romeo's end of the journey. Be prepared."
A. Ask where you can find the Sacred Sword.
B. Ask what sadness lies ahead.
C. Thank her and go find Rmeo.
D. Ask what language is written on her forehead. |

You thank her, then begin to scoot out of bed. The machine in your chest whirs and creaks as you move, ending with a constant hum as electricity flows through. After a moments pause, you walk out of the tent.
You are surprised to see only a few tents around, only around 20. You realize the battle had put much more damage on the army than you had originally thought. Around you, medics move from tent to tent, and a few dirty-looking soldiers meander around nervously, guns held loose at their sides. You ask around for Romeo, and learn he is in a tent on the west side of the camp, which you make your way to. Inside, Romeo and another soldier are discussing something.
A. Interrupt the conversation and tell Romeo about the Oracle's visit.
B. Listen in on them.
C. Look around the room.
D. Leave the tent and begin collecting supplies for your journey. |

You walk into the tent and immediately begin telling Romeo about the Oracle's visit. The other soldier stares at you with a gaping mouth, but Romeo has a very stern face. At the end of your tale, he says, "Interesting... We should probably get packing then. This here is my friend Mercutio. I hope you will be fine with him coming... I actually believe he'd follow us anyways." With a laugh, he leaves the tent.
A. Say hello to Mercutio.
B. Check your backpack to see what supplies you already have.
C. Follow Romeo to collect supplies.
D. See if there are any supplies in the tent you are in. |

In the awkward silence, you say hello to Mercutio. After a few minutes, the two of you are having a great conversation. Mercutio seems witty, humorous, and downright inappropriate at some times, though he's easy to get along with. After around a half-hour, Romeo returns to the tent with some clothes and a lot of food. "We'll have to travel undercover from now on," he says with a small smile, "So get rid of your uniforms and put these on." You take a white t-shirt and blue skinny jeans, as well as a black jacket, which Romeo informs you is fireproof. After you're all dressed, a question confronts you all: how do we get to Vaktovia?
A. Steal a truck from the camp.
B. Travel to the nearest neutral town and try to catch a bus into Vaktovia.
C. Walk.
D. Ask if the pilot in the camp would be willing to fly you to the Vaktovian border. |

Romeo tells you that his cousin, Benvolio, is a pilot here in camp and would probably be willing to fly you all over. When you arrive at the airfield and ask Benvolio, he seems skeptical. "It's suicide, guys. We'll be gunned down before we can get within 20 miles of the border!" After a bit of time, you manage to convince him to drop you off a few miles from a trade town by the Vaktovian border.
You and the rest of your party pile into a rickety propellor plane, which creaks as you take your seats. Once everyone is situated, you take off. The plane is in the air within a few minutes, with no comment from the army radios.
You have flown for an hour when Vaktovian fighters appear on the horizon. Your plane, which had been shot down and captured from Vaktovians, still has the Vaktovian symbol on its wings, so you don't think it will be a problem.
A. Try to shoot the fighters down.
B. Just keep flying, just keep flying...
C. Radio them with fake information about your plane.
D. Try to fly around the planes without being seen. |

Fine, since nobody is posting, I'll choose... Random choice! D.
You tell Benvolio to turn before the planes can see you. A large cloud obscures you, and you have escaped.
A few hours later, you land at the trade town. After you get off the plane, you notice a few small buses advertising their services for wherever you want to go.
A. Steal a bus.
B. Hire a bus and drive to Vaktovia.
C. See if you can buy a bus.
D. Ignore the buses, and check the town for another means of transportation. |

I am no longer alone! B.
You and your group of fellow soldiers walk off the airbase and over to the bus station, where an old man wearing a sombrero greets you. "You wanna rent one of my babies, hombre? It costs 20 creds up front, then another 5 per hour. And we don't include repairs, hombre, which might end up costing quite a lot, eh?"
You, Mercutio, Benvolio and Romeo pool your money together, and realize you are a few credits short of the required cost. You're in a bit of a pickle.
A. Let's all get JOBS.
B. Try to steal a bus.
C. Buy some gas for your plane, fly off, and hope you don't get shot down when you enter Vaktovian airspace.
D. "Persuade" the old man to lower the cost. |

You go back to the old man and ask for a job. He grins, revealing toothless gums, then says, "I need someone to wipe down all the windows and sweep the inside. That could be you, hombre. I'll pay you 20 creds once you're done." Thankful he accepted, you go to the buses.
There are eight buses, and every one of them is disgusting and filled with soot, garbage, and the occasional pile of poop. After four hours of cleaning nonstop, you are done. You meet with your friends, who have spent the days at McFernalds, the airbase, and the bank, and re-pool your money. You now have enough to hire a driver and bus.
A. Hire a bus.
B. Try to buy a bus.
C. Forget money; let's go steal ourselves a bus.
D. See if there are any cars for sale. |

Random choice! D.
You tell the other members of your party to search for any cars for sale. Benvolio finds a car dealership down the road, which has a canvas-covered jeep for only 120 credits. Benvolio does the math:
"Let me see, if we all have together 200 credits, take the square root and divide that by six, then imagine a multiplicative fractorial to slit that in two. Once that's done, you take the price of the car - 120 - and add forty-six until it equals 2. Finally, mush the two values together in a boiling pot and let that simmer for 6 hours, stirring every forty-five minutes. Put that on a pan and bake in the over for another three hours, which will leave you with a pi. Compare that with your original two values... Yep! We have enough for the jeep!"
And without furer ado, you purchase the jeep. You also buy a few extra tanks of gas, but you suddenly realize you have no idea where you have to go.
A. Try to find a map.
B. Just drive in a random direction.
C. Go west. West is where the gold is.
D. Go north! No penguins, but there are polar bears! |
